Clean sweep for cleaning excellence in South Oxfordshire

Cannon Horticulture has picked up more than just street litter in its cleaning contract with South Oxfordshire District Council. The company has collected an "excellent" rating in a major review of council suppliers held last week. It achieved over 95% of the demanding targets set by the local authority for cleaning streets and public conveniences across the county including the towns of Didcot, Henley, Thame and Wallingford.

The cleaning contract was originally awarded to Cannon in 1996 and earlier this year the company was also awarded the contract to clean public conveniences. The latest review covers the twelve months to the end of June this year and Cannon received the highest grading within the council's 'Key Performance targets'.

Ray Rushworth, managing director of Cannon Horticulture said, "South Oxfordshire is widely regarded as one of the most attractive areas of England in which to live and the local council is strongly committed to maintaining the quality of both the rural and built environments in this area. Our role is to ensure that, in spite of the inevitable impacts made by around 130,000 people who live and work here, we help achieve the highest levels of cleanliness. We are proud to have rated at the highest level in this contract."
